2. Treatment for Malarial Fever: Mix some pieces of asafoetida while preparing patient’s food/curry. It can be consumed as normal food and is effective in treating malaria.
3. To curb pain during Menstrual Periods: Make it a habit to fry some asafoetida in ghee and use it while cooking food regularly. Continuous consumption of this mixture in your diet tends to reduce pain, cramps and discomfort asafoetida fried in ghee regularly in diet to reduce the pain and discomfort arising during menstrual periods. This also aids free flow of fluid.
4. Relief from Dental problems: Heat some pieces of asafoetida or powdered asafoetida in lemon juice and prepare a lotion. Now apply this ointment on the cavities or affected areas to get instant relief from pain and acute toothache.
5. Cure for Asthma and bronchitis: Asafoetida is considered as one of the most effective medicines in treating respiratory diseases. As suggested by Unani Medicine System, Mix about 3 to 6 centigram of heeng with 2 teaspoon of honey, a quarter teaspoon of white onion juice & a teaspoon of betel leaf juice (juice of paan leaves). Consume this mixture 3 times a day to stay away from such disorders.
6. Asafoetida also helps in lowering blood cholesterol and blood pressure.
7. Paste of asafoetida, when applied on patient’s Navel portion from exterior, reduces the intensity of stomach ache.
8. Since heeng is a wonderful antiflatulent, so it is also beneficial for women after childbirth.
9. Asafoetida, being an antimicrobial, is broadly used in traditional medicines and is well-known for treating chronic bronchitis and cough.
10. In Ayurveda, asafoetida is considered to be one of the best spices for balancing the vata dosha.
